The Kopf Snare design has very crisp snare and slap and a very punchy-low bass tone. The Birch Series Snare Cajon is constructed from the highest quality Baltic Birch Plywood available. The shell is a full  1" thick which makes for a very strong shell. The duel 1/8" baltic playing surfaces are attached with steel screws that can be adjusted to your liking. This design provides a very crisp snare-slap and a very low -punchy bass tone. The screws are black oxide coated to prevent corrosion. One of the playing surfaces has 4 non-adjustable snares and the other surface has no snares for a natural tone. The semi-gloss finish is hand-rubbed to keep it as delicate as possible and preserve the tone of the drum while still providing protection. There are 4 steel reinforced rubber feet on the bottom of the cajon for non-slip playing. It also has an upholstered vinyl seat and rounded corners.

Your not going to beat this cajon !

Jenny Palmer on 30th Aug 2014

For $230 you will never find a cajon that is at this level. I based my decision to purchase this cajon on customer reviews and the videos that were available. I am just thrilled by this instrument. It has a really big bottom end and the snare are just right. I love how the bass notes don't have snare in them as well. This drum stunning to look at to....looks like furniture! I am so glad that I decided to go with this one.

More than what I paid for

Amy Bradshaw on 8th Nov 2013

This is a fantastic cajon. It is definately worth alot more than what I paid for it. It seems to be put together very sturdy. I think it sounds amazing with great snare response and a really deep bass. I love the dual playing sides, the side without snares has some really cool cuban tones to it. Overall.......probably the best sounding cajon in it's price range.....seriously. I love it

Very satisfied

I was looking for a mid-level cajon and decided on this cajon. I ordered it from X8drums.com after talking with one of their sales guys....I think his name was Matt. The quality of the drum is above mid-level in my opinion. I think it should be considered a pro cajon. I paid around 230 bucks for it.....got more than my moneys worth for sure.

TOP SHELF CAJON

MARTY DOUGLAS on 16th Nov 2012

I LOVE THIS CAJON! I KNOW THAT THEY SAY IT IS THERE MID-LEVEL CAJON, BUT SERIOUSLY, IT BETTER THAN THAT. I PLAYED MANY CAJONS OVER THE YEARS AND THIS ONE OF THE BEST. LOOK AT THE SPECS.....ALL BALTIC BIRCH CONSTRUCTION, 3/4" THICK BOX WALLS, 1/8" PLAYING SURFACE, 4 SNARES, 1/2" THICK SEAT PAD. AND IT HAS A BETTER BASS THAN ANYTHING I HAVE EVER PLAYED. I LOVE IT AND WILL NEVER GO BACK.

I just want to say that this is a great company that makes great drums! I couldn't decide which model to get, so called them up and spoke with Steve. He answered all of my questions and helped me get the right cajon for what me. A+ customer service and the cajon is awesome. I recommend Kopf Percussion to anyone.....it was a real pleasure.
