"about as high-end as I’ve seen in the cajon game"-Gregg Juke of DRUM! Magazine
My name is Steve Head and I am the owner of Kopf Percussion. I welcome you to my shop. I am located in Waresboro, Georgia on a rural 50 acres that has been in my family for 4 generations. I opened my shop back in March of 2008 with a simple business philosophy, "Handcrafting the highest quality instruments that I possibly could." Then, backing them up with worldclass personal customer service. Over the years I have had the pleasure of building thousands of instruments for people from all over the world. It is my hope, they would say that their "old fashioned" customer experience with Kopf Percussion was uniquely refreshing.
I have always admired the craftsman of the past. They seemed to have a level of pride in their workmanship that is often missing in todays world. I am somewhat of an old soul when it comes to my own work. Rather than doing something the quick or easy way, I do things what I consider, the right way. Instead of doing things the cheap or cost effective way, I do things the quality way.
There are no assembly lines in my shop. Every instrument that carries the Kopf logo was actually handcrafted by me, in the shop that I built myself. I heard a quote one time that said, “A man that works with his hands is called a Laborer. A man who works skillfully with his hands is called a Craftsman. A man who works skillfully with his hands from his heart is called an Artisan." I strive to fall into the Artisan category. I am a firm believer in, "do what you love, and love what you do" if you aren't proud of your work, you're not going to love it.
So take a look around and if you have any questions or comments, please reach out to me. I would love to hear from you!
