Discontinued: Junior Cajón
I introduced the Junior Cajón as a mid-sized option for younger players — larger than my Kids Cajón, but smaller and more accessible than a full-size drum. It gave students an affordable way to start learning, with a Baltic birch shell and snare system that produced a real cajón tone in a scaled-down format.
I’ve since chosen to discontinue this model so that I can dedicate all of my time to building professional and artisan-level instruments. My focus today is on creating fewer drums at the highest possible standard, using premium tonewoods, refined joinery, and finishes designed for serious musicians and collectors.
If you’re looking for a handcrafted cajón, I invite you to explore my current lines:
-
S-Series Cajons – My professional baseline cajón, crafted to outperform anything you’ll find in a store.
-
American Tonewood Series – Artisan instruments featuring domestic hardwoods, box joinery, and bookmatched veneers.
-
Custom / Masterbuilt – One-of-a-kind commissions built from exotic tonewoods and designed in collaboration with each player.
My commitment is to build the finest handcrafted percussion instruments available.

Big Sound
It is truly astonishing how much sound comes out of this little cajon. I play it on gigs all the time.

Great Student Cajon
The Junior cajon is a great sounding cajon with more bass than was expected. Great smaller sized cajon.

Not just for kids
I am a 30 year old drummer that just happens to have a very small frame. I got this drum for myself because all of the cajons that I played were simply too tall for me. This is the perfect fit. People should know that this cajon sounds better than most standard size cajons. You will be surprised by the sound ....I promise. The bass is really full. For a smaller cajon, it really can fill up the air. Any student would love this cajon as well as my fellow "smaller framed" adults :)

Pro cajon in a small package
I purchased this cajon for my 10 year old for his birthday. The quality is as good if not better than the pro level cajons that I saw in my local store. I am simple amazed that that little box can sound as full as it does. Great bass as well as upper tones. My son loves it.

Perfect for me
I had been looking to buy a cajon for a few weeks, but most of the cajons that I played were to big for me. I am a rather short adult. A fellow musician recommended the Kopf Junior. I purchased it and when it arrived I was blown away. The quality of the cajon and the sound is great. It is much better than what I was expecting. I guess because it is in their "Student Line" I was thinking that it would be a toy or something. It has incredible bass for a drum that size and the snare is cutting. If you are looking for a cajon that is a little smaller than normal, then this is the right one.
